Our Story
Kwado Moda was born out of a love for African prints, beautiful colours, and the simple joy of dressing up and looking good.
Welcome to Kwado Moda.
We are three friends, Chioma, Ebere, and Chikwe, who share a love for fashion and a special appreciation for the beauty of African print fabrics. We love how colourful these fabrics are, how they stand out, and how they can be turned into beautiful pieces that make a woman feel good about herself. For us, African prints have always had something special about them. They are beautiful, expressive, and full of character, and we wanted to create clothing that celebrates that beauty in a way that feels modern, stylish, and easy to wear.
The name Kwado Moda ~
The name *Kwado Moda* also means something special to us. Kwado is an Igbo word that means “get ready” or “dress up,” while Moda means fashion. Together, the name reflects what we want our brand to represent: helping women get ready, dress up, and show up feeling good in what they wear. Whether you are getting ready for work, meeting friends, attending an event, or simply stepping out because you feel like looking good, we want Kwado Moda to be part of that moment. We want our pieces to be the kind of clothing you reach for when you want to look stylish, feel comfortable, and show up as yourself. However, our love for fashion also came with a few experiences that we could relate to. Like many women who enjoy dressing up, we have had moments when we bought clothes that looked beautiful but were not as neatly finished or well-tailored as we expected. Sometimes, it was the little details that made the difference. The finishing, the fit, or the overall quality of the outfit did not quite meet our expectations. And we began to think about how much better the experience could be if more thought and attention went into making the clothes women wear. That was where the idea for Kwado Moda began to take shape. We decided to come together and build a brand that reflects the things we personally appreciate in clothing: beautiful designs, lovely colours, neat finishing, and good tailoring. We wanted to create pieces that women could feel comfortable and confident wearing, without having to spend a fortune to look good.

At Kwado Moda, we believe that looking stylish does not always have to mean wearing something complicated or over the top. Sometimes, all you need is a beautifully made outfit, the right fit, and a touch of colour to bring your whole look together. We understand that there are women who love fashion, enjoy dressing up, and want to look put together, but still prefer to keep things simple. Those are the women we had in mind when we started Kwado Moda, and they continue to inspire what we do. Our focus is on creating ready-to-wear clothing for women using beautiful African print fabrics, with designs that are stylish, wearable, and thoughtfully made. From the choice of fabric to the design, tailoring, and finishing, we want every piece to feel intentional. We pay attention to the details because we understand that the little things can make a big difference in how an outfit looks and feels. We also believe that beautiful clothing should be accessible.
